The National Weather Service forecasts wind gusts between 30 and 40 mph, especially along open roadways like Route 68. According to the National Weather Service in Wilmington, Halloween evening will bring showers across the region, starting as early as late afternoon. The rain, coupled with breezy conditions, will continue through the evening hours, potentially impacting outdoor Halloween events. Residents are advised to bring rain gear and exercise caution on the roads, as slick conditions could develop.

Thursday’s forecast calls for temperatures around 78 degrees, with wind speeds reaching 16 to 22 mph and gusts peaking near 38 mph in certain areas. Showers are likely to intensify by late afternoon, with a 90% chance of rain persisting into the night, accompanied by possible thunderstorms. Rainfall amounts could reach up to a quarter of an inch, with higher totals possible in storm areas.

As the week progresses, the weather will stabilize. Friday is expected to be sunny with a high near 60 degrees, and calmer northwest winds around 7 mph. The weekend will bring cooler temperatures, with Saturday’s high reaching 64 degrees under mostly clear skies. Sunday may see more showers after 2 p.m., as clouds return to the area and temperatures hover around 72 degrees.
