NEWFOUNDLAND, Pa. — A Pennsylvania Lottery Powerball ticket with Power Play worth $100,000 was sold in Wayne County for the October 28 drawing, officials announced Tuesday.
The winning ticket, sold at Al’s Quick Stop at 1042 Main Street in Newfoundland, matched four of the five white balls — 21, 27, 32, 48, and 67 — as well as the red Powerball number 17. The Power Play option doubled the prize from $50,000 to $100,000 after a 2x multiplier was drawn. Al’s Quick Stop will receive a $500 bonus for selling the prize-winning ticket.
The identity of the winner remains unknown until the prize is claimed and the ticket is validated. Pennsylvania Lottery Powerball winners have one year from the drawing date to claim their prizes, and players are encouraged to sign the back of winning tickets immediately.
In addition to the $100,000 winner, over 16,600 other Powerball tickets sold in Pennsylvania won various prizes in the same drawing, including more than 3,500 tickets with Power Play and more than 2,400 with Double Play. The next Powerball drawing, scheduled for Wednesday, October 30, will feature an estimated jackpot of $39 million.
