Suspect arrested in Fatal Shooting of Woman in Baltimore

BALTIMORE, MD — A 27-year-old man has been charged with murder in the fatal shooting of a woman during a domestic dispute in Baltimore’s Southeast District early Monday morning, police said.

The Baltimore Police Department reported that officers were called to an apartment in the 3700 block of Toone Street around 3:44 a.m. on October 28, where they found 28-year-old Amy Armstrong suffering from a gunshot wound. Medics responded to the scene and pronounced Armstrong dead.

Investigators quickly identified Gabriel Gomez-Fiorenza, 27, as the suspect in the shooting. Police said the incident stemmed from a domestic-related dispute between Gomez-Fiorenza and Armstrong, who reportedly shared the apartment.

Gomez-Fiorenza was arrested later that day in Baltimore County by county police officers without incident, authorities said. He was subsequently transported to the Central Booking Intake Facility in Baltimore, where he was charged with first- and second-degree murder, as well as first- and second-degree aggravated assault.

Police have not released further details on the nature of the dispute.
