North Brunswick Mischief Night Curfew Now In Effect

NORTH BRUNSWICK, N.J. — The Township of North Brunswick has imposed an 8 p.m. curfew for both Mischief Night on October 30 and Halloween on October 31, according to an announcement from the North Brunswick Police Department. The curfew applies to all children under the age of 18, restricting them from being on the streets or in public areas of the township after the designated time.

Officials stated that the decision was made by resolution of the Mayor and Council, aiming to maintain order and safety during the holiday period. The North Brunswick Police Department confirmed that it will strictly enforce the curfew on both nights.

“This curfew will be enforced by the North Brunswick Police Department,” the department stated in its announcement on social media, reminding residents to stay safe during the festivities.

The curfew follows a longstanding practice in many communities to prevent acts of vandalism and ensure a secure environment during Halloween celebrations. No additional exceptions or adjustments to the curfew were mentioned in the police department’s announcement.
