Man shot, robbed on Brooklyn street in early morning attack


BROOKLYN, N.Y. — A 40-year-old man was shot and robbed early Wednesday morning while walking near McKinley Avenue and Eldert Lane in Brooklyn, police said. The incident occurred around 3:30 a.m. when an unidentified assailant approached the victim, displayed a firearm, and opened fire, hitting him once in the back.

After discharging the weapon, the attacker forcibly took the victim’s cellphone, authorities reported. The assailant then fled eastbound on McKinley Avenue in a gold Honda CRV, which police noted was missing a spare tire on its rear.

Emergency medical responders arrived at the scene and transported the injured man to Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center. Officials said the victim was in stable condition.


The suspect is described as a male with a light complexion, last seen wearing a hooded sweatshirt and pants. Police are continuing to search for the individual involved in the attack.

The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward.
