Reward offered for information in Wicomico County fatal shooting


SALISBURY, Md. — Maryland State Police and Crime Solvers of the Eastern Shore are offering a reward of up to $2,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for a fatal shooting in Wicomico County on October 28. Authorities are seeking tips in the case, which left one man dead and another injured.

The shooting occurred shortly after 7:30 p.m. on Monday, October 28, in the 800 block of West Road. Maryland State Police troopers from the Salisbury Barrack responded to the scene and discovered 32-year-old Tevin Mumford of Salisbury suffering from gunshot wounds. Mumford was transported by ambulance to TidalHealth Peninsula Regional, where he was later pronounced dead.

A second victim, identified as 33-year-old Ekoye Emmanuel Spates, also from Salisbury, was transported to TidalHealth by a bystander. Due to the severity of his injuries, Spates was later transferred to Christiana Care Christiana Hospital in Delaware for further treatment.


The Maryland State Police Homicide Unit has taken the lead in the investigation and is working to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting. Police have not yet identified a suspect and are appealing to the public for any information that could assist in solving the case.
