Leesburg man wins $1 million on scratch-off in Chillicothe

CHILLICOTHE, OH — Nathan Osborne of Leesburg is celebrating a life-changing win after hitting the $1 million top prize on the Ohio Lottery’s Hit it Big scratch-off. Osborne purchased the lucky ticket during a recent visit to the Corner Market on Charleston Pike in Chillicothe.

After bringing the ticket home, he scratched it off on his front porch and was stunned by the result. “I didn’t believe my own eyes. I could hardly breathe,” Osborne recalled.

Opting for the cash payout, Osborne will receive $500,000 before taxes, with an estimated $360,000 after federal and state withholdings. He plans to invest most of his winnings.

Hit it Big is a $10 scratch-off game that offers a top prize of $40,000 a year for 25 years. According to the Ohio Lottery, as of November 5, two top prizes are still available in the game.
