Alabama Weather Update: Wet Weekend Expected Across Huntsville Starting Friday

Huntsville, AL – Huntsville residents should prepare for a rainy stretch of weather beginning Friday, with showers forecast to persist through the weekend. According to the National Weather Service, a low-pressure system is expected to bring rain, with precipitation chances peaking at 40-70% by Sunday.

The rain will begin with a moderate 20-30% chance on Thursday, as temperatures hover between 77°F and 79°F. By Friday, residents can expect a slightly drier day with a high near 77°F, but rain chances will rise again on Saturday afternoon, continuing into Sunday. Local officials advise residents to monitor weather updates and consider indoor plans over the weekend to avoid wet conditions.

The highest rainfall is expected to fall from Saturday evening into Sunday, with the possibility of thunderstorms. Drivers on major Huntsville roads, such as Interstate 565 and Memorial Parkway, should be especially cautious, as heavy showers may cause slippery conditions and limited visibility.

Following the weekend showers, the forecast indicates a slight cooling trend, with highs around 74°F on Sunday. Nights will also be cooler, dipping into the mid-60s. Despite the rain, temperatures will remain unseasonably warm for November, creating a muggy atmosphere across northern Alabama.
