Fatal shooting on Savannah Terrace leaves one dead, one injured in Southeast D.C.


WASHINGTON, D.C. — A deadly shooting in Southeast Washington left one man dead and another injured on Sunday night, as investigators work to understand the circumstances surrounding the violence.

The incident occurred on November 3, 2024, around 9:58 p.m., when gunshots were reported in the 2100 block of Savannah Terrace, SE. Responding officers found an adult male suffering from gunshot wounds; he was conscious and transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

While canvassing the area, officers discovered a second victim, identified as 25-year-old Lorenzo Campbell Jr. of Fort Washington, MD. Campbell was transported to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.


Detectives are urging anyone with information about this incident to contact the Metropolitan Police Department at (202) 727-9099 or text an anonymous tip to 50411. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction in this case.
