Utica Police Drug Search Ends With Arrest


Utica, NY – Utica Police’s Special Investigations Unit, alongside the Oneida County Narcotics Unit and Utica Police Patrol, executed a search warrant targeting narcotics sales on Thursday. The operation took place at 1427 Oneida Street, apartment E5, following community complaints.

During the search, investigators discovered cocaine of felony level, along with scales and packaging materials. These findings led to the arrest of Shawanda Taylor, a 39-year-old resident of Utica.

Taylor faces several charges including two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the third degree for sale and weight. Additionally, she is charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the seventh degree and two counts of Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia in the second degree.
