Criminals Targeting New Yorkers Wearing Expensive Jewelry


NEW YORK, NY — The NYPD is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying two individuals connected to a string of violent robberies in the Bronx that have left three victims injured and resulted in the theft of valuable jewelry and other items.

The first incident took place on Saturday, Oct. 12, at around midnight near 385 East Fordham Road. Police said a 35-year-old man was approached by two suspects who displayed a firearm, struck him in the head, and forcibly removed about $19,000 worth of jewelry, $300 in cash, and other personal property. The suspects fled northbound on Decatur Avenue on foot. The victim sustained minor injuries but refused medical attention.

In a second incident on Saturday, Oct. 26, at approximately 4:40 a.m., a 22-year-old man was outside 160 West Kingsbridge Road when two individuals with a firearm approached, hit him in the head, and stole approximately $14,500 in jewelry and other items. The suspects then fled westbound in a gray Honda Accord with New Jersey license plate S82PED. The victim also sustained minor injuries and declined medical treatment.


The third reported incident occurred on Monday, Oct. 28, around 1:40 a.m., in the vicinity of 2703 Webster Avenue. A 39-year-old man was confronted by two suspects who displayed a firearm, struck him in the head, and forcibly took jewelry valued at approximately $54,000. The suspects then fled northbound in a white SUV. This victim sustained minor injuries and was transported to Saint Barnabas Hospital in stable condition.

Police have released images of the suspects as they continue their investigation into the robbery pattern, which has involved significant violence and high-value thefts.
