Bronx man and teen indicted in fatal robbery shooting of 26-year-old

BRONX, N.Y. — A 25-year-old man and a 15-year-old boy have been indicted on murder and robbery charges in connection with the October shooting death of Ali Flores, 26, during a robbery in a Bronx apartment building, District Attorney Darcel D. Clark announced Thursday.

Francisco Deleon, of Westchester Avenue, and the unnamed teen face two counts of second-degree murder, first-degree manslaughter, first- and second-degree robbery, and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon. Deleon was arraigned on Thursday in Bronx Supreme Court and remanded, while the teen, arraigned last week in Youth Part, also remains in custody.

Prosecutors allege that on the night of October 16, 2024, the defendants lured Flores to an apartment building at 671 Westchester Avenue in the Woodstock section of the Bronx under the pretense of a transaction. During the encounter, they allegedly robbed Flores of marijuana and cash. In the ensuing struggle, the 15-year-old is accused of shooting Flores in the torso, killing him.

The defendants reportedly fled to an apartment in the same building with the stolen items. Police arrested them after obtaining a search warrant, recovering the victim’s property and other evidence. Surveillance footage captured the robbery and shooting.

“The defendants allegedly robbed a man inside an apartment building, and during it he was shot, allegedly by the teenage boy,” DA Clark said in a statement. “We cannot become inured to the tragedy of children committing gun violence in our community.”
