BALTIMORE, MD — Two 15-year-old boys were arrested Thursday evening after a violent carjacking in Northwest Baltimore led to a crash and a police pursuit involving multiple juveniles.
The incident began around 4:45 p.m. in the 3300 block of Clarks Lane, where a 79-year-old man was physically assaulted by two suspects who stole his vehicle keys and fled in his SUV. The victim was treated on scene for shoulder pain.
A short time later, Baltimore police aviation unit Foxtrot located the stolen SUV and tracked it until it crashed into a light pole near North Avenue and Eutaw Street. Several juveniles bailed out of the vehicle but were quickly apprehended by officers.
Two 15-year-old males were arrested and charged, while six additional juveniles, aged 14 to 16, were treated by medics and released to guardians pending further juvenile referrals.
Citywide Robbery detectives are continuing their investigation into the carjacking and crash.
