Middletown Man Arrested for New Castle Carjacking

New Castle, DE – The Delaware State Police have detained Antoine Carter, a 41-year-old resident of Middletown, following a carjacking incident at a Dash-In convenience store.

On Monday, approximately 3:34 p.m., troopers responded to a carjacking report at the Dash-In on 154 N. Dupont Highway, New Castle. Their investigation revealed that the 37-year-old victim had been followed by a friend to the parking lot. The friend, identified as Antoine Carter, allegedly attacked the victim by punching her through the open car window and forcefully removing her from the vehicle.

Carter then drove off in the victim’s Chevrolet Impala but returned to the Dash-In shortly thereafter. Once back at the location, troopers took Carter into custody without further incident.

He was transported to Troop 2 and charged with Robbery 1st Degree, a felony. Following his arraignment at Justice of the Peace Court 11, he was committed to Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on a $20,000 secured bond.
