South Carolina Weather Alert: Rain Showers Likely Along I-85 This Tuesday Evening



Spartanburg, SC – Rain is set to make a return to the Upstate on Tuesday, bringing cooler temperatures and possible wet roads for commuters along I-85. The National Weather Service forecasts a 30% chance of rain developing by late morning, with showers becoming more likely Tuesday night.

According to the National Weather Service, scattered showers are expected between 10 p.m. and 11 p.m. Tuesday, with a 60% chance of precipitation. Drivers should be cautious, especially during the evening commute, as light rainfall could create slick roadways. Winds will pick up slightly, gusting to 18 mph overnight.

Daytime highs on Tuesday will reach near 66°F before cooling to a low of 57°F overnight. The rain will taper off by Wednesday morning, giving way to mostly clear skies and cooler temperatures. Wednesday’s high will be around 55°F, followed by sunny but chilly conditions later in the week, with lows dipping to the mid-30s.

Residents should prepare for a dry end to the week, with Thursday and Friday expected to be sunny with highs in the low to mid-50s. For those planning outdoor activities this weekend, Saturday will also stay sunny, with temperatures reaching a comfortable 55°F.
