New York’s Bronx. The NYPD is reiterating its request for the public’s help in identifying a person and car linked to the shooting death of 45-year-old Wendy Martinez in her Bronx apartment six years ago.
Officers were called to an assault at 760 Grand Concourse, Apartment 1F, in the 44th Precinct on Saturday, Nov. 24, 2018, at around 9:42 p.m., which resulted in the killing. When officers arrived, they discovered Martinez shot in the face and was unconscious and unresponsive. At the site, EMS declared her dead.
According to the incident’s surveillance footage, an unidentified man twice approaches Martinez’s apartment door before fleeing following the shooting. When last seen, he was wearing a dark hooded jacket, a dark baseball cap, dark trousers with the Miami Heat emblem on the left leg, and gray sneakers. He is described as a man in his 20s with a medium build and complexion.
Additionally, police are looking for information regarding a car they think may be connected to the case. The vehicle, a black-rimmed, four-door sedan BMW 3 Series, was last observed heading north on Sheridan Avenue from East 161st Street.
The inquiry is still ongoing, and no one has been taken into custody. Anyone with information regarding the suspect, the car, or the incident is being asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477), provide information online at www.nypdcrimestoppers.com, or email a report via Twitter at @NYPDTips, according to authorities.
