New Jersey’s Seaside Heights. As part of a Supplemental Environmental Project (SEP) resulting from a settlement with the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection’s Air Compliance & Enforcement program, six dual-port EV charging stations have been placed in Seaside Heights.
A total of 12 charging ports are available in public parking lots close to the beach and boardwalk, with four stations situated at 55 Grant Avenue and two more at 21 Hancock Avenue. SEP funds supported the stations and provided signage to promote their locations.
The charging stations are located within walking distance of popular attractions, and electric vehicle owners can take advantage of discounted parking fees. Users may monitor their car’s battery levels and determine greenhouse gas reductions while charging with the ChargePoint app.
Approximately 300 pounds of volatile organic compounds and 50 tons of carbon dioxide will be avoided over the next five years, according to environmental statistics from the project. This is equivalent to planting 1,200 trees, according to the app.
These cuts are anticipated to help the community and the environment by improving public health and air quality in the Seaside Heights neighborhood.
