Rockland County Corrections Officer Arrested on Child Sex Abuse Material Charges

New York’s Rockland County The Rockland County Jail Sergeant Daniel Dworkin, 44, of Valley Cottage, New York, was taken into custody on Monday. He was accused by the Rockland County District Attorney’s Office with 51 counts of both having and encouraging a child’s sexual performance.

Following a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, Dworkin’s home and electronic equipment were searched as part of the investigation. The Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force led the investigation, with assistance from local law enforcement.

Considering Dworkin’s position in law enforcement, District Attorney Thomas E. Walsh II acknowledged the gravity of the accusations. He reaffirmed a dedication to legal accountability and child protection.

Bail was imposed at $500,000 cash, $1 million bond, or $1.5 million partially secured bond when Dworkin was arraigned in Clarkstown Justice Court. Prosecutors Joseph Santangelo and Gerard M. Damiani III will continue the proceedings on November 25.
