New York State Troopers and Ontario police recreate iconic 1970s border photo

New York’s Alexandra Bay.Reuniting at the International Rift Bridge on Wednesday, members of the Ontario Provincial Police and the New York State Police recreated a decades-old image of mutual support.

The original image, which was taken in the 1970s, showed officers and troopers standing together at the border between the United States and Canada, signifying the close cooperation between the two law enforcement agencies.

The two groups reconvened at the same spot on November 20 to take a fresh picture of the classic moment, emphasizing their continued friendship and cooperation.

In a statement released along with the photograph, the New York State Police said, “The recreated photo not only demonstrates the bond we’ve shared for decades but also the commitment to working together for the safety of our communities.”

For a long time, the International Rift Bridge, which connects New York and Ontario, has represented unity beyond borders.
