Woman killed in crash after car strikes utility pole in Gaithersburg

Maryland’s Montgomery County According to authorities, a car struck a wooden utility pole in Gaithersburg Thursday night, killing a 41-year-old woman.

Around 10:30 p.m. on November 21, officers and emergency personnel arrived at the 13300 block of Darnestown Road and found that a blue 2007 Toyota Camry had been heading west before colliding with the pole.

Due to her injuries from the collision, the woman—whose name has not yet been made public—was declared dead at the spot.

The Collision Reconstruction Unit of Montgomery County is conducting an investigation to ascertain the events that preceded the deadly collision.

Authorities are still investigating the accident to determine what caused it.
