Washington, DC Officials say Eastern Senior High School is momentarily on notice after a teenage boy was shot Friday morning close to the school’s campus.
The teen was found with a gunshot wound at the 1700 block of East Capitol Street NE, which is also the area where the school is located. When he was sent to the hospital for treatment, he was breathing and conscious.
Shortly later, the school’s alert status was revoked while authorities investigated the shooting.
Police ask anyone with information about this incident to call (202) 727-9099 or use the TEXT TIP LINE at 50411 to provide an anonymous tip. For information that results in an arrest and conviction, a reward of up to $10,000 is being given.
As authorities attempt to ascertain the circumstances behind the incident, the investigation continues.
