Bayonne, New Jersey.Authorities said that 17 persons were displaced and six apartments were damaged after a five-alarm fire destroyed a residential structure on Avenue C in Bayonne on Friday morning.
According to the Bayonne Fire Department and the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office, the fire started in a bedroom of an apartment at 458 Avenue C at approximately 11:45 a.m. When firefighters arrived, they discovered a lot of smoke and flames that had swiftly spread to nearby buildings.
There were no reported fatalities or injuries despite the enormous destruction. Several families lost their houses as a result of the fire, despite the efforts of emergency personnel to contain it.
The cause of the fire is being looked into by the Bayonne Fire Department and the Hudson County Regional Arson Task Force. Although the causes of the fire are yet unknown, officials acknowledged that it began in a bedroom.
