Stafford, Virginia.Deputies found containers of pure fentanyl during a traffic check for an expired vehicle inspection in South Stafford, which resulted in the arrest of two people, including a man wanted on several shoplifting counts, according to authorities.
Deputy S.A. Hensley pulled down a Ford Focus on Warrenton Road at around 2:04 p.m. on November 22 after observing that the inspection sticker had expired. The officer recognized the passengers as Stafford residents Kyle Dunbar, 33, and Khadijah Francis, 30. The car was stopped at the Warrenton Road Commuter Lot.
Dunbar was arrested without incident after being wanted for four shoplifting offenses. The driver, Francis, received a summons after it was discovered that he was driving without a valid driver’s license. Deputy Hensley found containers thought to contain banned narcotics and observed signs of drug activity during a check of the car.
Both Dunbar and Francis acknowledged taking pure fentanyl, often known as F, after deciding that blue fentanyl pills were too risky, according to the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office. Both people were charged with extra narcotics possession after it was determined that the canisters in the car contained fentanyl.
Dunbar is being held without bond at the Rappahannock Regional Jail, while Francis is being held on a $2,500 secured bond.
