A Transgender Odyssey Takes Center Stage in Asbury Park

NJO, ASBURY PARKn She’s NorM : A Transgender Odyssey, a revolutionary multimedia musical performance by Geenetica (Geena Buono), will be shown at the House of Independents on Sunday, December 8, 2024. From 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, this special matinee program welcomes viewers into a lively celebration of authenticity, transgender existence, and the human spirit.

Live music, spoken word, poetry, biographical narratives, and striking graphic animations created by projection designer Denis Randall are all incorporated into the presentation. Every visual and audio component was created by Geenetica, who characterizes the show as a profoundly intimate meditation on the intricacy and beauty of living true to oneself.

With this event, I hope to demonstrate that, despite its difficulties, the journey to self-discovery is an incredible one that should be honored. Geenetica divulged.

The concert is expected to be both sincere and thrilling, supported by a great local band that includes Geenetica on lead vocals and acoustic guitar, Faye Fadem on drums, Kevin Stryker on bass, John Kadian on keyboards, and Denis Blume on lead guitar. Additionally, Geenetica alluded to a pivotal scene that captures the essence of the program.

The evening will conclude with a pay bar and a celebration of Geenetica’s birthday and the holidays from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.


The event, which is sponsored by Garden State Equality and TheaterQ Asbury Park, is evidence of the community’s continuous efforts to promote and elevate LGBTQ+ perspectives.

$40 tickets are available online at HouseOfIndependents.com with applicable fees or in person at Rebel Supply Company, 550 Cookman Avenue, free of charge. At 2:00 PM, the bar and doors open.
