TACOMA, WAAuthorities are searching for answers after a stolen vehicle smashed into Centennial Elementary School in Graham, Washington, in the quiet hours before morning, destroying the school’s doors. The suspects left the running car inside the building and ran away right away.

Stolen Car Crashes Into School Building

A 911 call indicating strange activity prompted the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department to arrive to the scene at approximately 4:58 a.m. on Thursday. Two automobiles were spotted making doughnuts in the parking lot, according to witnesses, before a black Hyundai Sonata crashed into the school’s door. The victims, who were described as two or three teenagers or young adults, hurried out of the wrecked automobile and took off in another vehicle.

When deputies got there, they discovered the Hyundai inside the school, running but abandoned. The vehicle had been reported stolen from a home in Spanaway earlier that evening, according to the sheriff’s office. Following the incident, the suspects made no attempt to steal or damage anything inside the school, according to surveillance footage that authorities examined.

Damage to Centennial Elementary

The Hyundai has damaged the main set of doors and is fully inside the school building, according to photos given by the sheriff’s department. Later following morning, lessons resumed as planned at the school in spite of the significant damage. In the days ahead, cleanup and repairs are anticipated.

No one was inside the school when the collision occurred, and no injuries were recorded, the sheriff’s office stressed.
