Alabama Braces for Freezing Temps: Bitter Wind Chills and Weekend Forecast for Huntsville

Huntsville, AlabamaA cold front is sweeping into North Alabama, and residents are waking up to freezing temperatures. ACWind chills in some places can drop as low as -2 degrees, and the previous weather advisory is still in effect until 10 a.m. on Friday.

The National Weather Service predicts a gradual increase in temperature over the course of the weekend.The temperature will rise to 41 degrees Fahrenheit on Friday, but it will plummet to 24 degrees on Friday evening. Saturday’s highs were close to 48 degrees Fahrenheit, but overnight they dropped back to 25 degrees.

The weather improves by Sunday, with highs of 52 degrees Fahrenheit and bright skies. The temperature will reach a peak of 62 degrees Fahrenheit on Monday.

People should check on their neighbors who are at risk, bundle up, and keep pets indoors. Travelers should use cautious because ice spots can occur overnight.
