An 18-Year-Old Delaware Man Finds Out: Sees Drunk Driving Stop Turn Into Gun and Drug Arrest




DEL SEAFORD.After being stopped by Delaware State Police on Saturday, an 18-year-old Laurel resident was taken into custody for driving under the influence, possessing drugs, and having a loaded handgun.

A trooper saw a maroon Chevrolet Equinox swerving across yellow lane lines on Middleford Road close to Sussex Highway at around 12:59 a.m. on November 23. Juda Hudson, the lone occupant of the car, was identified by the police as the driver. After conducting field sobriety tests and reporting symptoms of impairment, officers arrested Hudson.

136.69 grams of marijuana in several packets and a loaded revolver under the driver’s seat were found during an SUV check.

After being taken to Troop 5, Hudson was charged with carrying a concealed lethal weapon, possessing a firearm while committing a felony, possessing marijuana with the intent to supply, driving under the influence, and other traffic-related felonies.

He is being jailed at Sussex Correctional Institution on a secured bond of $15,502 after being arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 7.


Authorities said the stop resulted in the seizure of more than 130 grams of marijuana and a loaded weapon.
