An Illegal Immigrant Sexually Molested a Youngster in the United States After Being Deported From the Country Five Times

After being removed from the nation five times, officers from Immigration and Customs Enforcement in New York made an arrest of an illegal immigrant who was born in Mexico and who had sexually abused a kid before to his detention.

Raymond Rojas Basilio, who is 36 years old and a criminal immigrant, is accused of sexually abusing a minor who was 11 years old while he was currently in the United States.

This crime was done by Rojas after he had been removed from the nation five times and then re-entered the country on an unknown date and at an unknown location without being allowed to do so by an immigration officer.

The arrest of Rojas was carried out by the New York Police Department on August 28, 2023. After that, on September 20, 2024, the Kings County Supreme Court in Brooklyn found him guilty of forcible touching of the intimate parts of a victim who was 11 years old. In addition to imposing a sentence of sixty days in jail and six years of probation, the court mandated that he register as a sexual offender.

Rojas was subsequently taken into custody by authorities from the New York ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations on December 17th, outside of his apartment in Queens.

After three consecutive efforts to illegally enter the United States in the vicinity of Douglas, Arizona, in May of 2002, Rojas was initially taken into custody by the United States Border Patrol.

Rojas was later detained once more on January 6, 2012, at the Dennis DeConcini Port of Entry in Nogales, Arizona, as he attempted to enter the nation by using a false Arizona Driver’s License and a phony birth certificate from the United States of America. Just a few days later, on January 11, border authorities once again ejected Rojas from the nation after he attempted to enter the country by using bogus documents at a different port of entry in Nogales.

In response to the arrest, the Director of the New York ICE Field Office, Kenneth Genalo, made the following statement: “This criminal has repeatedly demonstrated that he has no regard for our nation’s laws, as evidenced by his repeated attempts to enter the United States fraudulently or unlawfully.”

“As this case illustrates, it only takes one successful unlawful entry to do irreparable harm to a member of our community,” he continued to say.

He stated that the local “non-cooperation policies” that were in existence had hindered the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) from taking immediate possession of Rojas after the Brooklyn court had handed down his sentence.

“However, due to the diligence of our officers, ERO New York City was able to rapidly apprehend this public safety threat before he could harm any other New Yorkers,” said Genalo to reporters.

The statement indicates that Rojas is now being held in detention by ICE in anticipation of his removal to Mexico.
