ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, MD The Anne Arundel County Police Department said Thursday that authorities have opened emergency warming facilities for residents who have been relocated due to an ongoing investigation into a gas leak.
For individuals who are unable to return to their houses, South River High School has been converted into a warming center, providing access to restrooms and shelter. For further assistance, the Southern District Police Station Community Room is also available.
While the investigation into the gas leak is ongoing, police have not yet given homeowners a safe return date.
For the most recent information, officials are asking locals to keep an eye on developments via the department’s Facebook page and X (previously Twitter).
While safety inspections and repairs are being made, emergency services are still available on the scene.
Many residents are seeking shelter in the freezing conditions as a result of the temporary evacuations brought on by the gas leak.
