BALTIMORE, MD — A Baltimore woman has defied the odds once again, winning a $150,000 top prize on a Maryland Lottery scratch-off ticket nearly a decade after her first six-figure win. The lucky player, who remains anonymous, claimed her latest windfall on November 12 with a $10 ticket from the $150,000 Extreme game.
This is not the first big win for the lottery enthusiast. In August 2013, she won $100,000 on a scratch-off game called 40 Rubies. Since then, the retiree has continued to play Maryland Lottery games regularly, treating it as a favorite pastime. “I play every day. It’s a hobby. That’s what I enjoy,” she said after collecting her prize at Lottery headquarters.
The Baltimore native says she plans to use part of her winnings for home upgrades, but most of it will go to family. “Just make life a little better,” she said, noting that she had shared her previous winnings with her loved ones as well.
Accompanied by her daughter, who confirmed her generosity, the winner said she has no intention of quitting her hobby despite the two big wins. “Oh, sure!” she replied when asked if she would keep playing.
Over the years, she has focused on $10, $20, and $30 scratch-off tickets, winning smaller prizes frequently, including multiple $1,000 payouts. She selected the $150,000 Extreme ticket because of its unusually large size and because it was a new addition, launched in March.
