Bayonne replaces American flag with Juneteenth flag at City Hall

Bayonne, New Jersey. According to officials, the American flag was momentarily lowered in the City of Bayonne’s flag-raising ceremony at City Hall in observance of Juneteenth.

As part of the city’s celebration of the federal holiday honoring the abolition of slavery in the United States, the Bayonne Police Department posted images from the occasion on social media, including the raising of the Juneteenth flag.

The ceremony was attended by community members and local leaders.

Bayonne joined cities across the country in commemorating the historic day by holding a Juneteenth flag-raising ceremony at City Hall.
