Beacon man arrested in fentanyl, cocaine bust, authorities say


BEACON, N.Y. — A Beacon man was arrested Thursday in connection with the sale of fentanyl and cocaine, following an investigation by the Dutchess County District Attorney’s Office Drug Task Force, authorities announced.

George Cintron, 37, was apprehended on the evening of October 17 after Drug Task Force agents, along with the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Services Unit, executed a search warrant at his residence near Beekman Street. During the search, officials discovered over 16 ounces of cocaine, fentanyl, ecstasy, and an illegal “ghost” handgun, according to the task force.

Cintron is charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the first degree, an A1 felony, and criminal possession of a firearm in the third degree, a class D felony. He is currently being held at the City of Beacon Police Department and is expected to be arraigned Friday morning.
