A well-known artist from New York City was taken into custody by the Police following reports of an overdose. Upon investigation, authorities discovered a collection of unregistered firearms at his residence in Staten Island.
Emergency personnel were initially dispatched to the residence on Wood Avenue in Tottenville in response to a report of an individual who was unresponsive. According to police sources, Vincent Castiglia, 42, is a well-known tattooist and blood artist with a large following on social media.
Police were summoned to the location where the unconventional artist was being attended to and were informed about a firearm discovered in Castiglia’s bedroom, according to sources.
On the morning of August 25th, officers discovered a loaded .380-caliber Smith & Wesson EZ handgun on his bedpost. This discovery led to the execution of a search warrant the following day, according to the Police.
As part of the investigation, law enforcement sources have reported that police discovered more firearms and ammunition. This included a 12-gauge Mossberg shotgun with six shells in the magazine, which was found concealed inside Castiglia’s bedroom closet.
Sources have reported the seizure of a KelTec pistol chambered in .22 caliber, along with a magazine of significant capacity.
According to police sources, a loaded .32-caliber Seecamp pistol was discovered in a vest in the bedroom.

Castiglia’s artwork, showcased in galleries and museums worldwide, is created solely using human blood.
According to his website, he describes his works as “monochromatic tableaux exploring life, death, and the human condition.”
In addition to his work as a tattoo artist, he actively promotes his craft on social media.
The NYPD commended the officers involved, expressing their appreciation for their efforts in a recent operation. According to a statement on X, their investigation into an overdose incident resulted in the execution of a search warrant, leading to the confiscation of three firearms and a significant amount of ammunition, effectively removing them from the streets. Castiglia informed the authorities that he had purchased and registered the KelTec pistol at a gun range in Florida. According to sources, Castiglia did not possess the necessary firearms license in New York City.
The individual is facing charges related to the possession of a weapon, firearm, and ammunition. The defendant has entered a plea of not guilty for all of the charges.
Castiglia is currently being held at Rikers Island and bail has been set at $100,000/$20,000 cash.
He was scheduled to appear in criminal court in St. George on Friday.
