Delaware’s Bridgeville. Glen Sample, 59, of Bridgeville, was detained by Delaware State Police early on Wednesday morning for his fifth DUI charge after he was stopped for speeding on Seashore Highway.
Around 1:37 in the morning, a state trooper stopped a Nissan Maxima that was speeding west on Wilson Hill Road after noticing it. During the encounter, Sample, the driver, allegedly showed indications of impairment.
Sample was arrested for driving under the influence after Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, according to the police. Sample had four previous DUI convictions and a suspended driver’s license at the time of the stop, according to a records check.
After being taken to Troop 5, Sample was accused of speeding, driving with a suspended or revoked license, and felony fifth-offense DUI. He was freed on a $6,150 unsecured bond after being arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 7.
