New York, New York According to New York Lottery officials, a fortunate Powerball player in the Bronx has won $100,000 after buying a third-prize-winning Powerplay ticket for Wednesday night’s drawing.
The ticket matched the red Power Ball and four of the five white balls when it was sold at Ameer Food Grocery during the 1964 Grand Concourse. The normal $50,000 reward was doubled to $100,000 because of the Powerplay option.
For the December 4 drawing, the winning numbers were chosen from a pool of 1 to 26 for the red Power Ball and 1 to 69 for the white balls. The prize for this ticket was increased because the Powerplay multiplier for the drawing was 2x.
Every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 10:59 p.m., Powerball draws are held with rewards ranging from $4 to multimillion-dollar jackpots.
Lottery officials are asking winners to thoroughly check their numbers and sign the back of their tickets.
