Police are looking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect in an unrelated subway cutting incident, and they have detained an 18-year-old Bronx male in connection with an assault investigation.
At at 10:40 a.m. on January 21, Antonio Romero, 18, of East 170 Street, was arrested in the 49th Precinct. According to authorities, he faces charges of fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, third-degree assault, and two counts of second-degree assault. Information about the attack that resulted in Romero’s detention was not made public right away.
Romero is accused of taking part in an assault at the subway station at 161 Street-Yankee Stadium on December 17, 202. Police say that at around 4:33 p.m., a 17-year-old female was sliced on the left side of her face by an unidentified item. In an unidentified direction, the suspect fled the area on foot. In stable condition, the victim was sent to NYC Health + Hospitals/Harlem.
Authorities are requesting the public’s help in identifying the perpetrator after releasing a photo showing them slashing through a train.
