Bronx man attacked and robbed of $1,700 and valuables in violent assault

BRONX, NYA — Police say a 36-year-old man was violently attacked and robbed early Saturday morning near 1406 Ogden Avenue.

When two unnamed people argued with the victim at around 4:15 in the morning, the incident happened. According to the authorities, the suspects repeatedly hit the man in the face with clinched fists and struck him in the head with a bottle.

Before escaping the scene in a white car, the attackers grabbed numerous of the victim’s possessions by force, including his designer fanny pack, jewelry, watch, glasses, driver’s license, and about $1,700 in cash.

The victim was taken by emergency medical personnel to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he received treatment and was said to be in stable condition.

The suspects and the car involved have not yet been recognized by the police, who are still conducting their investigation.
