Bronx man fatally shot near Trinity Avenue and East 149th Street

New York’s Bronx. According to the NYPD, a 38-year-old man was shot and died in the South Bronx on Tuesday morning.

At at 7:46 a.m., officers from the 40th Precinct received a 911 call reporting that someone had been shot close to the junction of Trinity Avenue and East 149th Street. When police arrived, they discovered that the victim had been shot in the chest.

The individual was taken by Emergency Medical Services to NYC Health and Hospitals/Lincoln, where he was declared deceased. Later, it was discovered that he was Victor Bautista, 38, of the Bronx, living at 611 East 149th Street.

According to authorities, the investigation is still ongoing and no arrests have been made as of yet. The circumstances leading up to the shooting are being investigated by detectives.

To verify the official cause of death, an autopsy will be performed by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
