New York, New York New York Lottery officials said Thursday that tickets for the top prize were sold in Brooklyn and Jamaica, adding that two fortunate Take 5 players had won $9,444 apiece in the December 5 lunchtime drawing.
The tickets were bought at Ideal Food Basket, located at 175-35 Hillside Avenue in Jamaica, and D O M Grocery, located at 2911 Fulton Street in Brooklyn. Both of them matched every one of the five digits selected from a pool of 1 through 39.
Players have the opportunity to win prizes ranging from matching two to five numbers during the twice-daily Take 5 drawings, which take place at 2:30 and 10:30 p.m.
In order to ensure security, lottery winners are advised to sign the back of their tickets and have up to a year from the drawing date to claim their rewards.
