Brooklyn woman’s death ruled a homicide; investigation underway

Brooklyn, New York. Police in Brownsville have declared the death of a 56-year-old woman who was discovered unconscious earlier this month to be a homicide.

On Saturday, November 16, at around 8:30 a.m., Idell Holloway, of Belmont Avenue, was found at 365 Sackman Street inside the boundaries of the NYPD’s 73rd Precinct and Police Service Area 2. Holloway was discovered unconscious and unresponsive by the police.

She was taken to Brookdale Hospital Medical Center by emergency medical personnel, where she was declared deceased. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner concluded that Holloway’s death was due to homicide on Monday, November 25.

The NYPD has said that the investigation is still underway and that no arrests have been made in the matter.
