To alleviate the citizens’ economic woes, the federal government and the majority of state governments established stimulus control programs.
In California, a new wave of stimulus checks worth up to $725 for qualified residents was introduced in December 2024 as part of the Sacramento Family First (FFESP) pilot program, which aims to enhance child welfare and lessen economic disparity in families who are at risk.
200 homes were chosen by the program to receive a $725 direct monthly payment. The fourth deposit was due on March 15, however there was reportedly a delay in the funds’ distribution. The deposits were supposed to be disbursed between December 15, 2024, and November 15, 2025.
The payment schedule will be updated first by Sacramento Family.
According to Sacramento County spokesperson Macy Obernuefemann, the pilot program is still in progress. 200 families were chosen by lottery to receive the funds in the first phase.
“The Sacramento County Department of Child, Family and Adult Services is working alongside its community partners on updating and expanding the Family Economic Support Pilot Program, as well as reviewing the payment schedule. The program is currently in the process of being updated and there is no payment schedule available at this time,” Obernuefemann told.
