California Man Arrested after Brief Police Chase; Los Angeles Police Rescued Kidnapped Kids Whom He Wanted To Send to Heaven

Authorities have reported the arrest of a man who allegedly kidnapped his young relatives, stating his intention to take them to heaven.

The Upland Police Department shared on X (formerly Twitter) that two young children, aged 4 and 6, were taken by their uncle, who had no legal custody of them. The mother of the children expressed concerns to authorities about his instability and her fear that he might harm them.

Following a lead from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, law enforcement officers identified the suspect vehicle and made an effort to stop it. At first, the man declined, resulting in a short chase with the children in the back seat.

Finally, the man decided to stop. In a video posted on X, officers were captured pointing their guns at the man after he pulled over, as shown in the officer’s body camera footage.

During his arrest, he expressed his desire to bring the children to a better place.

The children were transported to a hospital as a precautionary measure. Fortunately, they emerged from the situation without any injuries.

No further information, such as the man’s identity, was immediately provided.
