Sacramento, CA Residents woke to frigid temperatures Tuesday morning as a freeze warning remains in effect until 10 a.m. Frosty conditions have blanketed the Sacramento Valley, with temperatures dipping to 34 degrees, causing hazardous driving conditions along major roadways like Interstate 80 and Highway 50.

According to the National Weather Service, temperatures in nearby foothills have plunged to the low 30s, while mountain areas are seeing single digits. Morning commuters are urged to use caution as frost may create slick patches. Drivers should plan extra travel time and avoid sudden stops.

The afternoon brings some relief with highs near 56 F and increasing clouds. Showers will move in late tonight, continuing into Wednesday with a 90% chance of precipitation. Expect gusty winds up to 21 mph. Rainfall totals could reach an inch by Wednesday evening, increasing the risk of minor flooding in low-lying areas.

Looking ahead, showers persist through Friday, with highs in the mid-50s and overnight lows around 49 F. Saturday may bring a break from rain as temperatures edge closer to 60 F.
