Authorities reported incidents of cars being set on fire and a dealership being broken into during two chaotic street takeovers in the Los Angeles area overnight.
At approximately 12:08 a.m. on Tuesday, a takeover occurred at Florence and Normandie avenues in the South L.A. area, as reported by the Los Angeles Police Department.
Authorities have confirmed that a vehicle was deliberately set ablaze. A video captured the car on fire at the intersection, with a group of onlookers observing from the sidewalk.
No arrests were made and no injuries were reported in that incident.
Another takeover occurred at approximately 3:30 a.m. in the University Park area, specifically at Jefferson Boulevard and Figueroa Street.
According to the LAPD, it seems that fireworks played a role in the incident. Footage captured at the location depicts individuals hastily fleeing as a resounding explosion reverberates in the background.
In addition, there is footage of another car engulfed in flames. However, authorities are unable to determine whether the fire was intentionally set or if it occurred accidentally.
Authorities have confirmed that the windows of a nearby car dealership were vandalized. Officers conducted a thorough inspection of the dealership and found no signs of theft or damage to any vehicles.
No arrests were made for this incident as reported by the authorities.
