Chicago Man Arrested for Peotone Travel Center Burglary, Linked to Multi-City Crime Spree

A Chicago man was detained by U.S. Marshals in connection with several burglaries in Peotone, New Lenox, and other Illinois cities.

Terrell L. Ferrell, 26, was arrested by police Thursday at a Days Inn in Calumet Park. Authorities connected him to a break-in at the Peotone Travel Center on January 4, when masked criminals took a lottery ticket display. In a Lincoln SUV, the group took off.

Ferrell was later linked by investigators to similar thefts in New Lenox, Matteson, and Chicago. Police were able to identify the suspects since they were driving rental cars. Ferrell cashed stolen lottery tickets in multiple locations, according to surveillance evidence.

On January 30, police acquired an arrest warrant. Six days later, Ferrell was found and taken to New Lenox by U.S. Marshals. He is still being held at the Will County Adult Detention Facility on accusations of theft, robbery, and burglary.

Authorities anticipate more updates as they continue their investigation.
