Chicago police seek suspects in attempted armed robbery at 47th St. Red Line station


CHICAGO — The Chicago Police Department’s Bureau of Detectives – Area One is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying two suspects involved in an attempted armed robbery at the 47th Street CTA Red Line station.

The incident occurred on October 9, 2024, at approximately 11:52 p.m. According to investigators, the victim was approached by a male and female suspect while on the train. The suspects displayed a knife, used mace on the victim, and attempted to steal the victim’s belongings before fleeing the scene.

The suspects are described as a male and female, both approximately 18 to 25 years old. Images of the suspects, captured by CTA security cameras, have been released.
