For over 20 years, Heritage United Methodist Church has been performing a drive thru Nativity with live actors portraying angels, shepherds, and of course, Mary and Joseph. It’s a popular tradition and cars line up to take part in the vibrant spectacle.
But Heritage also has other Christmas events happening throughout the holiday season as well that they want to share as well.
December 3: Cocoa and Carols
At 9 a.m. – All are welcome for cookies, coffee and hot cocoa in our Fellowship Hall for merriment! At 10 a.m., our service will begin. This will be a narration of the Christmas Story and presentation of music from our modern worship team, traditional choir, and other various musicians (including an appearance from bagpipers!).
December 6 – 8: Drive Thru Nativity

From 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. on all 3 days, drive thru Bethlehem and hear the story of the birth of Christ with live actors. This is such a fun tradition for families.

Goodie bags will be given out to each vehicle, and a scavenger hunt is provided for each child in the vehicle for items to look for during their drive through Bethlehem!
December 10: Handbells

Our handbell ringers will present music during our Traditional Worship Service at 11 a.m.
December 21: The Longest Night

7 p.m. – This is sometimes referred to as a Blue Christmas service. This is a time for those that might not be feeling so jolly to reflect, pray, and light a candle for loved ones they are missing during the season.
Christmas Eve Services

10 a.m. – Family Service – Children will present the Christmas Story. All children in attendance are invited and encouraged to participate regardless of whether or not they are visitors! Costumes are provided to all!
5 p.m. – Modern Service – Our modern worship team will present worship music, a Christmas Eve sermon will be given, and we will light candles and sing Silent Night. Come early or stay after to get a photo by the Christmas Tree with your friends and family.
7:30 p.m. – Traditional Service – Traditional style music and hymns are presented during this service. A Christmas Eve sermon is given, and we will light candles and sing Silent Night. Come early or stay after to get a photo at the Christmas Tree with your friends and family.
11 p.m. – Communion Service – Traditional style music and hymns are presented along with a service of Holy Communion. A Christmas Eve sermon is given, and we will light candles and sing Silent Night. This service ends at midnight so you will be present to usher in Christmas with us!
All Christmas Eve services end with the singing of Joy to the World!
