It’s that time of year again when excitement fills the year. Parents everywhere rejoice as kids prepare to return to school!
Somewhat less exciting – actually decidedly less so – are the expenses involved in beginning a new school year. New clothes, new shoes … these prices add up quickly and with prices currently as they are, everyone’s looking for any way they can to cut costs.
Clearwater will have a number of school supply giveaways, and fun back-to-school bashes hosted through various entities such as the Clearwater Library System, various churches and more. Most events are first come, first served until supplies run out, and some require registrations, so be sure to check the details for each event.
Here are the events in order by date:
Back to School Bash
Saturday, July 29, 2023 at 11 a.m.

Join us on July 29th for our Annual Ice Cold Air Back to School Bash from 11am – 2 pm. We will be giving away 50 Back Packs with School Supplies to pre-registered families.
We will also have Free Food and Drinks, Facebook Painting, Balloon Artist, Popsicles and more.
To register your student, send an email to hi@icecoldair.com with your families name, student name, age and school grade to receive the appropriate supplies.
If you would like to donate School Supplies, we will be collecting these items up until July 28th.

Back to School Bash at Countryside Mall

The Annual Back-to-School Bash by Community Markets & Events returns to Countryside Mall in Clearwater on Saturday, July 29th, 2023, with dozens of family resources, kids’ activities, thousands of free school supplies, an interactive scavenger hunt, free raffles, and the annual Backpack Giveaway. Join us as we provide 250 backpacks to local families, enjoy family entertainers, activities, and more!

Backpack Giveaways at the Clearwater Libraries

Clearwater will have a number of school supply giveaways, free wellness checkups and fun back-to-school bashes hosted through various entities such as Clearwater Parks and Recreation, the Clearwater Library System, various churches and more. Most events are first come, first served until supplies run out, and some require registrations, so be sure to check the details for each event.

July 31 at 10 a.m. – August 4 at 5 p.m.
The Clearwater Public Library System‘s Back to School Free Backpack Giveaway begins and runs Monday, July 31 to Friday, August 4. All Clearwater library locations will be offering free backpacks, books and school supplies for students in grades K-12, with generous support from the Clearwater Library Foundation.
Stop by any of the five Clearwater library locations from July 31 through August 5, during open hours.

Join us for our Back 2 School Bash/HOPE IN THE PARK (we will be in the Gym – in air conditioning this month!!) on August 3rd 5-7pm- School Supplies (while supplies last – child must be present), Games, FREE COMMUNITY DINNER, FOOD ASSISTANCE (while supplies last; no documentation needed) and lots of Family Fun (Free Inflatable, Games in the Gym). This event is for ALL AGES! Invite a friend! Hope Park is located at Clearwater First Nazarene, 1875 Nursery Rd, Clearwater, FL 33764 – white gates at west end of front parking lot.
Back To School Supplies Giveaway Family Event

Join us for our Back-to-school Open House! The Citizens Commission on Human Rights of Florida will be holding a family and kids-friendly Back-to-school event on 109 N. Fort Harrison Ave. in Clearwater.
Friday August 4th, 5 p.m. – 7 p.m.
There will be other safe activities for children & families such as arts & crafts and games in the nearby organizations & nonprofits on Fort Harrison Avenue.
RSVP so we can make sure we don’t run out of school supplies for all kids attending.
