The Clearwater Historical Society held its biannual fish fry on May 1, 2021. The event proved to be a resounding success, with long lines of people waiting for tasty plates of fried fish, fries, coleslaw, grits and hushpuppies. Attendees could follow this feast with an orange ice cream cone provided by Dairy Kurl.
In addition to live music, corn hole, and a sale of vintage clothing, four authors were featured: Doug Kelly – author of Florida’s Fishing Legends, Dorothy Smiljanich – author of Bringing Jesse Home, Dr. Fred Hosley – author of Sorry U Missed It, and Daryl May – author of Chasing Shadows.
A car show featured classic automobiles by members of the Pin Mar Car Club and the Gulf Coast Vintage Chevrolet Club. A 50/50 raffle was also held – a big pot, if the number of attendees was any indication.
If you missed it, no worries. The next fish fry will take place on Saturday, November 6, 2021.
