Memorial Day holds a significant place in the hearts of Americans as a national holiday. Observed on the last Monday of May each year, this day plays a crucial role in honoring and remembering the brave men and women who have sacrificed their lives while serving in the U.S. military. It reminds us of the valor and selflessness of these heroes who laid down their lives for the safety and security of the nation.
Come together to show appreciation and support for our military in this solemn Memorial Day salute on Monday, May 29, from 6 – 7 p.m. at Crest Lake Park’s Florida Veterans Memorial, 400 S. Lake Dr.
Clearwater Mayor Brian J. Aungst Sr. and Jack Tilley will be attending the event as speakers and restored military vehicles will be provided by Douglas H. Suzukovich President of the Florida Military Vehicle Group.
NOTE: City of Clearwater offices and libraries will be closed in observance of Memorial Day on Monday, May 29. Some Clearwater recreation centers will be open. Call your nearest recreation center for more details. The Solid Waste department will be working, and there will be no changes to the collection schedule. For police or fire emergencies, dial 9-1-1.
